Anne Arundel County Volunteers Train for Emergencies

Sunday, November 8, 2020

The Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company hosted Rural Water Supply Training on Saturday, November 7, 2020.

Arundel VFD, Cape St. Claire VFD, and West Annapolis VFD sent crews and apparatus to participate in this critical training.

The training simulated a fire in an area without fire hydrants.  Crews were expected to set up fire attack along with a means to continuously transport water from a fill site along the Severn River to the fire.

The training was a great success!

We are truly appreciative of the support of the Severna Park United Methodist Church and the Ben Oaks on the Severn community. SPUMC allowed us to use their parkinmg lot as the site of the simulated fire.  The residents of Ben Oaks on the Severn were very understanding while we used the boat ramp to pull water from the river.
